To start the series of three artists, who will play live for you on September 12, let’s start with ladies first … or rather the lady!  The only woman of the evening.  DJ, singer and songwriter …

Ladies and gentlemen, I present …

Lydia da Rocha

Lydia da Rocha started her musical life very early, taking courses in music theory, guitar lessons and saxophone.

She began her singing career in 1995 and sang in several groups, leaping into completely different universe each time (Rap, R & B, Rock, Pop …).

In 1998, she debuted as a DJ in several of Belgium’s big clubs (Gate, Millennium, Mirano, Wings, Belgium Gay Pride, Chez Maman, Diamonds, L-Party, …).

She followed this up in 2001 by taking part in the Belgian TV show ““Pour la Gloire” where she received praise from the great musician, “Marc Moulin”!

After that, things fell into place rather quickly:

• 2002, Lydia recorded her first single: a cover of Dionne Warwick “Heartbreaker”  and was signed by Chrysler Music.
• 2003, Lydia started organising and DJing at her own club nights, “French Kiss”, which were a great success.
• 2005, she began training to become an “engineer” at the School of Audio Engineer (SAE) in Brussels.
• 2006, Lydia co-wrote some of the lyrics for  “Feeling Better” and sang the title featuring a composition of 2M (Massimo Leonora and DJ Milo).

The same single, 2M feat. Lydia “Feeling Better” experienced a resounding success.

Current Projects

Lydia is currently working closely with Dj Magik, Gold Vader and Adrien Lapp Project Magikal (single of Magikal feat. Lydia “Open Your Eyes”)

Lydia is also working right now with Mark Wagner and Steve Delrez of Project Black Domino

2M Feat Lydia – Feeling better

Lydia currently provides many live concerts all over India and many projects are underway with people from all walks of life: a collaborative project in France (Sebastien Reaz); project disco (Discodôme) in Belgium; project trance Belgium (Magikal); draft house (Black Domino) as well as her own personal projects.

Wearing a completely different hat, Lydia da Rocha produces  jingles for various radio stations worldwide that play on the internet and podcasts of great radio shows like “Magikal Club Night” …
